Four Fashion Takeaways from the Golden Globes You Should Try
Award your closet with the bold trends seen on the red carpet

The Golden Globes Awards were Hollywood’s chance to party while celebrating the best in both movies and television. The show also kicked off the award seasons red carpet, where gorgeous stars sport fabulous dresses and jaw dropping jewels–and this year’s celebrities did not disappoint. Million dollar diamonds aside, there were a few stand out fashion trends from the 2012 Golden Globes that every woman can enjoy incorporating into her wardrobe.

 1. Deep Peacock Blues:

Sophia Vergara, Berenice Bejo, Freida Pinto and Laura Linney were all wearing beautiful shades of the bright, saturated blue. This color is so flattering on just about every skin tone, it gives a regal appearance and that notice me pop of color to any outfit. Try it in a silk blouse or shift, or cocktail dress.

  2. Blush Tones:

Another color trend: the always-popular blush tones. This color palette will be huge for spring and stars like Charlize Theron, Heidi Klum, Julie Bowen, Jessica Biel, and Kristin Wiig looked beautiful in their blush and nude toned dresses.

  3. Deep V’s:

Plunging, “how-low-can-you-go” necklines were on display down the red carpet on everyone from Rooney Mara to Emma Stone, Charlize again, Evan Rachel Wood and even Helen Mirren. The ladies keep the look sexy yet demure with minimal cleavage and sophisticated silhouettes. V-neck line can be very flattering as they elongate the lines of you body making you look taller and slimmer… just save the super plunge for the red carpet.

4. Owning Your Personal Style:

One exquisite highlight from the Globes was the difference in each dress and it’s reflection of the star’s own personal style. Michelle Williams and Zoey Deuschanel were quirky. Angelina wore clean lines with only pops of color. Rooney Mara was edgy in black. Salma and Sophia personified bombshell while Julianne Moore and Lea Michelle took fashion risks. It’s a great lesson in developing your very own personal style: staying true to what make you feel beautiful.
