Cellulite.  A word that strikes fear in women of all ages!

While there is everything from quick fixes to extensive invasive procedures to lessen this embarrassing condition, we all wait with anticipation for that modern, miracle treatment that permanently makes our dimpled skin vanish.  Guess what ladies? Most of the cellulite treatments on the market today are noninvasive laser treatments that utilize radiofrequency or laser energy over the epidermis with the goal of temporarily improving the appearance of cellulite.  This new device fights cellulite from under the skin and thus permanently treats cellulite without the maintenance of other treatments.  “Cellulaze uses a three-dimensional approach to directly target the subdermal structure that forms the foundation of cellulite,” says Michael Davin, president and CEO of Cynosure (the company behind Cellulaze). The Cellulaze procedure is performed under a local anesthetic. The physician will use a special laser under the skin to diminish the lumpy fat pockets, release the depressed skin and increase the skin’s elasticity and thickness. Cellulaze, which is pending FDA approval, has already received Health Canada approval and CE Mark certification earlier this year.  Cellulaze will be available for sale to physicians in the European Union in the second quarter of 2011.
