Who doesn’t look amazing with a tan? But let’s forget the dangerous version!

Unless you are one of “those” people who look more like a porcelain doll instead of a ghost, then you will find the following tips useful in getting a year-round glow. Not only does dark skin make your eyes brighter, teeth whiter, it can also masque cellulite, varicose veins, and freckles! My personal favorite is Lavish Tan Organic Airbrush Take-Home Spray http://lavishtan.com/ - Katy Perry loves it!
Here’s the experts tips to a sexy Summer glow:
- Exfoliate your face and body using a gentle body scrub or exfoliating glove. Removing dead skin cells is crucial for the self-tanner to apply evenly.
- Don’t use any lotions, gels, deodorant, or makeup before you apply. This will interact with the formula and may leave the skin spotty.
- If using a lotion, gel or a mouse formula, then start by applying to your lower legs. Make sure you apply in a circular motion, and cover every inch with product. If using a spray, hold the bottle 12 inches from your body and again, use circular motions working your way up from the lower leg. The ankles, knees, feet, elbows, and chest have thinner skin, so apply a little lighter in those areas.
- Wait 10- 15 minutes for the solution to dry before you get dressed, and don’t do any activities that require you to get wet or perspire. Grab a glass of wine and kick your feet up for the night!
- After 8-10 hours your tan should be fully developed and it’s safe to shower. There may be a little brown water that goes down the drain, but don’t worry! That’s just the temporary cosmetic bronzer that rinses off to reveal the new bronzed you.
- The biggest mistake people make is not moisturizing enough post-tan. Even though rubbing down with lotion isn’t the most fun activity in the world, the difference it makes in the longevity of your tan is huge, so slather up! Lavish Tan also makes an amazing oil-free light lotion specially developed to hydrate skin.

Enjoy your new tan, and always practice sunless safe tanning. Your skin will thank you.
