The beauty mecca unveiled exclusive bath collection Sai-Sei on FNO

Highly regarded for its extensive range of elegant products, beauty haunt Space NK opened its first Washington, DC area location at the Bloomingdale’s at Tysons Corner Center in early September. Situated in the heart of the newly revamped cosmetics department, the store-within-a-store is slick, modern and incredibly compelling. The expert team of makeup artists works its magic with a plethora of beloved brands at their disposal, including Eve Lom, Tata Harper, REN, By Terry, Lipstick Queen, Rococo Nail Apparel and the Space NK house brand.

Space NK invited clients to get a little zen before heading out for hours of tireless shopping on Fashion’s Night Out. The team unveiled Sai-Sei, a collection of Japanese bath and body products so astonishingly indulgent that they have the innate ability to transform even the simplest morning shower into a spa-like experience. The brand was inspired by Space NK founder Nicky Kinnaird’s travels to Japan’s onsens (hot springs), which left her in a state of almost breathtaking tranquility. The chosen name, then, is no surprise; it translates to “rebirth,” and the well-edited lineup includes deeply restorative formulas rich in some of Japan’s finest and most nourishing ingredients, including green tea, bamboo and camellia oil, all blended with healthful minerals. The result: nine luxurious beauty essentials, including body lotion, body scrub, bath oil and shower gel. Contributing to the evening’s theme of restoration and healing, 15 percent of Sai-Sei sales proceeds were donated to the Japanese Red Cross for victims of the earthquake and tsunami.

Before heading to Georgetown for the District’s most anticipated FNO event, the city’s most fashionable twenty- and thirty-somethings flocked to the newly opened space for a little relaxation, a chic makeover and a few gifts with purchase, too.
