It’s that time of year again! While the majority of the fashion world has converged in London for Fashion Week, a smaller (though no less chic) crowd is getting ready to kick off DC Fashion Week.
The 16th annual event is an electrifying celebration and collaboration of international style and local up-and-comers. It’s not just the DC and New York designers who share the spotlight here – designers originating from vast locations such as Ukraine and Belgium are also hitting some of DC’s hottest spots, including Eden Lounge, the Woolly Mammoth Theatre, the Textile Museum, The Washington Club at Patterson House, Dirty Bar, the Ukrainian Embassy, the Washington Post Conference Center, and the French Embassy.
THE SCHEDULE
Get comfortable in your most glamorous duds, fashion mavens. After opening night at Eden Lounge, nothing is left to chance – the week is entirely packed with everything from textile exhibits to networking parties to, natch, fashion shows galore. Mix and mingle with like-minded DC fashion elite on February 23rd at Dirty Bar from 6pm to 10pm. On February 26th, things get fancy over at the Embassy of France La Maison Francaise from 5pm to 9pm. With your $70 general admission ticket (or $150 VIP), you’ll enjoy an incredible presentation of international designers and their fabulous looks for fall.
GUESTLIST
Whether you’re familiar with them or not, you’ll develop a whole new appreciation for the many designers slated to appear, including Descai, Earle Bannister, Eljoy Designs, Estella Couture, Karavanska, Leona Edmiston (who has worked with the likes of Toni Collette and Kylie Minogue), Natalia Sanz, and many more.
