The name says it all…visit Sassoon for the most perfect, precise fashion forward haircuts and color.
The Sassoon Salon opened its doors in Seattle in 2009 and brought with it one of the best reputations in the business. Known for its extensive and ongoing training program for stylists and colorists and technically perfect haircuts, Sassoon Salon has tended to the top tresses around the world for over 50 years. The Seattle salon featured cuts, color, blowdrys and treatments along with Davines, Moroccan Oil and Sebastian products.
AMBIENCE
I’ve walked by Sassoon on Seattle’s bustling Fifth Avenue numerous times and I’ve always wanted to visit, so I was very excited when I booked an appointment a few weeks ago. The salon interiors are contemporary, super chic and utterly spotless. The color palette of cool, modern whites punctuated with black, dark wood and glass accents gives the salon a decidedly urban feel…like you’ve been transported from earthy Seattle to New York’s upscale Tribeca neighborhood. Individual hair styling stations sit in front of floor to ceiling windows in the front of the salon while the back is reserved for coloring stations and sinks. The staff was incredibly warm and friendly and made me feel so welcome from the moment I stepped in the door.
EXPERIENCE
I have to say this might be, hands down, one of the best haircuts and colors I have ever had. It’s so good in fact, even my husband took notice! Upton arriving I met Carmen Wenthold, the salon’s Assistant Color Director, and we discussed touching up my highlights and, since it’s still winter, adding various shades of blonde to create depth and warmth. She worked methodically and precisely, painting small sections and weaving the colors throughout my hair. Carmen is supremely knowledgeable about color and I felt totally at ease in her very skilful hands. She is also utterly delightful and we chatted about wedding planning and our favorite Seattle restaurants. When the color was done I was whisked away for a shampoo and heavenly scalp massage.
Next I met Lisa Rowell, the salon’s Creative Director, for my cut. I love my long hair and I’m always a little hesitant to part with any length. Lisa and I decided on a two-inch trim but added lots layers for movement. Lisa chatted with me about Sasson’s comprehensive training that includes the Sassoon “proprietary method”- the precision technique founded on geometric techniques and involves a series of modernist principles that when applied to hair, creates cuts and colors of sheer simplicity. Using this technique she created the most perfect face framing layers and cut that combined sharp perfection with soft sex appeal.
Lisa blow-dried my hair then styled it with a flat iron so I could see the Sassoon signature precision. By the way, if I ever work up the guts to go short – Lisa will be my go to girl. I must say the angular nature of this cut is especially flattering to my face. Plus, I simply swooned over my multi-dimensional, gorgeous, and natural looking blonde color along with my hair mirror like shine!
