New year, new hair
As I had mentioned in a previous post, for over fifty years Sassoon has created and maintained a modern method of hair design that continues to evolve and inspire clients worldwide . When walking into a Sassoon Salon, it’s without question your desires and vision of style will be fulfilled with the utmost attention and expertise.
AMBIENCE
When most Southern Californian natives hear the words “South Coast Plaza” one thing usually comes to mind: premiere shopping. Stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and more are prevalent at this massive retail destination.
The prestigious Sassoon Salon is located just a stones through away and impresses with its uber high end finishes, modern inspired waiting area, and team of expert staff. The ambience has the same luxurious feel as the one in Beverly Hills.
EXPERIENCE
2012 has arrived and so has my need to make a drastic change in my appearance. I’ve done the short choppy bob, layered long long locks, and everything in between; so when Sassoon Salon contacted me with an invitation to see the Costa Mesa location, I knew this was a perfect chance to change it up. Upon arrival, I met with Adriana Harrison: Color Director, and Edward Tedeschi: Assistant Creative Director. We decided on fringe (something I had never considered before) and to keep the length. As for color, warmer hues would brighten my complexion with a bit of an “Ombre” effect.
While my hair was processing, I had the opportunity to chat with Adriana and Edward about upcoming hair trends and what the most requested hair-style is at the salon. Adriana’s belief is that though ombre is still going strong, it’s time to experiment with a fresh version of the style. Instead of just coloring the ends of hair, she likes adding touches of color to the roots and bringing it down for a more “updated” take on the ombre. Which is exactly what she did with me. As for cuts? Edward kindly expressed that though he may see one particular trend requested in the salon, he stays strong to his intuition and creating the shape hair that will complement each type of face frame.
It’s been a few weeks now since my experience at the Sassoon Salon in Costa Mesa, and though I am still getting used to my new fringe (bangs obstructing my vision, ha!) I absolutely love what these two created for me. It’s exactly the pep I needed to start my year off on the right foot!
