Three Ways to Fake Well-Rested Eyes
Pencils, Creams, and Concealers...Oh My!

If there is one thing that virtually all of us could use more of, it would be sleep.

And there’s a reason they call it “beauty sleep” – when we don’t get enough hours of rest, our eyes are the first to tattle us out. Eyes can get puffy with fluid retention, under eyes dark with too little circulation in the tiny veins under the thin skin, and eyes red with irritation.

Fortunately, a beauty bag filled with these tricks can help disguise your sleep sins until you can grab some shut-eye and catch up on your rest.

A Peachy-Beige Eye Pencil

To make the whites of eyes appear whiter and larger, rim the lower lashline with a peachy-beige pencil like Three Custom Color Specialists Eye Pencil in Light or Medium, depending on your skin tone depth. Far more subtle and soft than using a white pencil, the beige hue of this pencil will instantly clock on the hours of sleep you lost last night.

A Caffeine Eye Cream

Puffy eyes are not only pesky to get rid of, but the swelling can make you look older than your years. Look for an eye cream that contains caffeine, which will constrict blood vessels around the eyes, helping inflammation to go down. Artistry Creme Luxury Eye contains the essential ingredient, along with oat kernel extract, evening primrose extract and sunflower seed oil to soothe skin and reduce the look of fine wrinkles.

 A Creamy Concealer

When you’ve got sleep deprivation-induced darkness under your eyes, it’s a job that requires a full coverage cream-based concealer. Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer offers maximum coverage in a silky soft formula that blends seamlessly. Skip the brush and instead dot on with your ring finger and blend; the warmth of your fingers will help set the concealer for the most natural look.
